I am seeing this more and more frequently.the 5 to 10 minutes spent with each patient is causing incorrect diagnosis. This is seen at the general opd level and at costly private opd. Too many patients .doctor and hospital overload due to less investment by the state ?

They need a 20 seater registration facilities on the ground floor right now first floor has 4 computer and usually 3 max are manned. All have huge lines on Mondays. Hospital is a little understaffed If you go there by ambulance they take you directly to the ICU as there is no separate emergency ward. You will be unable to leave or be admitted to a room unless the receptionist gets a go ahead from the treating doctor. So if you do no have a treating doctor you will not be able to be shifted even if it is a minor fracture not requiring icu care.  The "doctors " in the icu are not the best as the doctor wrote incorrect xray test and luckily the xray technician phoned the doctor who gave the right tests to be done.  Billing is not a good experience. Due to understaffed and no place to sit you need to bend and talk through the a small window. Insurance guy at billing is terribly inefficient. Not much customer service. Lifts are confusing not all lifts reach all floors. First floor  only lift 3 goes .other lifts are confusing. The billing department is very inefficient you need a lot of patience. Indian doctors are probably misdiagnosin patients who have ecoli in the respiratory system as a common flu as they rarely do a sputum culture and sensitivity test before prescribing medicines.

Moms had a hip replacement and has a bad cough. Went to the chest specialist and he's says can't prescribe unless I see the patient.(The doctor had a good reason. That he has to check the symptoms before he prescribes)  Me : Thought the sputum culture would be enough? Dr: I cannot prescribe without seeing the patient Me: how do i bring her ? in an ambulance?(hip replacement) Dr: You need to get a GP to see her Me: GP? ( my mom has been a doctor all her life and never been to a GP) DR: You need to get a G.P to see her at home Me: do G.P come home in 2018?  END.  The Doctor has wiped his hands of the case as patient no available to be examined.  Doctors do not come home. F*** frustrated Update  Dr Chitra known to mom thankfully came home as a special case and did a thorough check up before prescribing the medicines .  There are still old school (caring doctors) who are still around .

I found him a good doctor. Listens to the patient. Did not do any unnecessary procedure. explained the options to the patient and their relatives before the surgery. I got his recommendation after my friends mother in law had a knee replacement under him and was back to work. Then i visited him for a knee muscle tear and he was much better than the sportsmed assistant. Then my mother had a hip fracture and he did the surgery.
